Starting from the Ditchling Beacon car park (the highest point on the South Downs in East Sussex at 248m), this circular route follows the South Downs Way west before looping back via Clayton and its famous pair of windmills — Jack and Jill.
The outward leg offers spectacular views north across the Weald and south to the sea. The descent to Clayton is steep but the return climb is gradual along well-maintained bridleways. Ideal for trail runners as well as walkers.
